Ferndale Productions was setup in North Wales in 2004 by Marc Joy.

I have been a professional musician since the late 70's. I have played and sung in many bands for 40 years and have played in America and Europe as well as all over the UK.

I have played in many different bands from Rock, Punk, Alternative Pop, Grunge, Shoegaze, Dream pop, Soul and even a Tribute band.

These days I am involved with The Rex (Tribute to Marc Bolan and T.Rex). This had also led to work with Rolan Bolan.

My personal project Lights That Change had led to a collaboration with Mal Holmes from Orchestral Maneuvers In The Dark with performances in Europe and the UK.

In addition to being a musician I spent many years doing live sound and had the good fortune to work with many bands including The Vibrators, Eddie and The Hotrods, Eric Bell from Thin Lizzy and Wishbone Ash.

I started recording and producing in the 80’s and have worked in many of the large studios around the UK. Around this time I stopped off to work for a mastering company that led to working on some Creation Records releases from Oasis, Primal Scream, Baby Bird, St Etienne and Bernard Butler. I spent three years there learning the dark art of Mastering.

Since then I have produced many albums, EP’s and singles for people all over the country and won music magazine competitions for recording and production. Some of the recordings I have worked on have had rave reviews. My mastering has led me to work with people like Chris Braide, The Saturdays, West Life and Diana Vickers. Whilst recording the movie sound track a film called Vinyl I worked with Mike Peters (The Alarm) and Phil Daniels (Quadrophenia and East Enders).

Through all these different avenues working with music in some form or other I have developed a wide variety of specialist skills and knowledge.
